Five reasons to visit The Griffin in Godshill
A warm welcome is always on offer at The Griffin, we’re a family and dog friendly pub nestled in the heart of Godshill. The Griffin pub is ideally located south of the Isle of Wight, an equal 15-minute drive to either Shanklin Beach or Ventor Beach. Both beaches offer breath-taking views of the Isle of Wight Coast, where you can enjoy a day trip out and round off your day with a delicious evening meal at The Griffin.
We have an inviting menu that offers something delicious for everyone. From hearty Sunday Roasts (with unlimited Yorkies!) to classic home comforts and a varied children’s menu. We’re also one of the first dog friendly pubs in the Isle of Wight to offer a pooch pub grub menu. After all, they’re party of the family, so why should they miss out?
Did you know?
It’s not just our menu that is inviting, we have a spacious beer garden overlooking our on-site maze in the garden.
The Griffin pub offers an interesting history of the local town and community. You may be familiar with the famous ‘Kray Twins’. Their mother, Violet Kray, was once the Landlady of The Griffin pub!
So, why visit The Griffin pub?
For all of our Sunday Roast lovers, The Griffin pub serves a sumptuous helping of your favourite meat, seasoned vegetables with unlimited Yorkies and roast potatoes. Whether you are local to The Griffin or you’re visiting the Isle of Wight in search of a pub for food, we highly recommend you indulge on one of our Sunday Roasts.
We know that your dog loves to travel everywhere with you, so we’ve made a new dog friendly menu especially for them. We can’t say we’ve tried the dishes ourselves, but our local four legged visitors seem pretty im-paw-essed.
What better feeling is there than sitting out in the summer sunshine in the Isle of Wight in a pub beer garden? Our spacious beer garden comes with a famous maze that you can find your way around, guaranteed great fun for you and your family.
We also have a new children's play area, so you can enjoy being outdoors whilst the little ones tire themselves out.
