About Us

Walton, mentioned in the Domesday Book, has existed since Anglo-Saxon times. Walton’s wharf was built in the 17th century to accommodate the steady flow of barges towed along the Thames by gangs of men and horses and is still used by the Hampton Court ferry.

The pub itself was built in 1870 and originally known as The Angler’s Cottage, after the innkeeper’s listed profession – fisherman.

The Anglers in Walton-on-Thames is a friendly pub popular with the locals, passing walkers and cyclists. We serve food all day from 10am to 10pm, are dog friendly and welcome families and children.

Situated by the river, you can enjoy the fabulous view from our front terrace and upstairs dining area. We also have five great cask ales on at all times. We look forward to seeing soon.
